Miley Cyrus Discards Pants for Cancer

Oct 29, 2009 - By Ian Fortey

Miley Cyrus, friend of FunnyCrave, has a heart of gold.  And gold, as you know, is one of a handful of materials out of which you cannot make pants.  Does that sentence make sense?  Not particularly, but the fact remains Miley Cyrus is not wearing pants in that video.

For the most part you’ll notice Ms. Montana seems to be doing a very nice piece of fan appreciation by singing to a little girl who, apparently, is sick with leukemia.  That must have been awesome for her as little leukemia girls love Miley Cyrus.  Along with middle aged men, it’s one of her biggest fan bases, but she rarely brings them on stage to serenade them for security reasons.

And while it’s very commendable for Cyrus to do such a thing we need to look at the bigger picture.  We need to applaud Miley for the sacrifice she makes.  No longer will FunnyCrave dare to mock Miley Cyrus because today she is our hero as she should be the hero of all people, all places.  Miley Cyrus cares so much, so damn much, she gave up pants for that little girl.  Nay, for all victims of this terrible disease.  Miley got on that stage and said to herself “No!  No pants, I can’ t have you today.  Not when so many people out there are sick!”

Try to imagine the courage, the dedication and the conviction needed, for a girl so young herself, to simply take a stand at this point of her professional career, and cast pants aside.

If you flip through TV or magazines, you’ll see people twice as old as Miley in pants.  Three times as old.  People who have spent their whole lives in showbiz are out there, in pants.  Right now.  And you know what?  Half of the staff here at FunnyCrave are in pants.  Probably some of you are too.  We don’t want to judge, that’s not what this is about.  But doesn’t it make you think?  If Miley can get on stage, in front of all those fans, in front of a sick little girl, and not wear pants, what’s stopping the rest of us?

Let’s close with some poignant Miley lyrics;

I hopped off the plane at LAX

with a dream and my cardigan

welcome to the land of fame excess,

am I gonna fit in?

Jumped in the cab,

Here I am for the first time

Look to the right and I see the Hollywood sign

This is all so crazy

Everybody seems so famous

My tummys turnin and I’m feelin kinda home sick

Too much pressure and I’m nervous,

That’s when the taxi man turned on the radio

and a Jay Z song was on

and the Jay Z song was on

and the Jay Z song was on

Too true, Miley.  Too true.
