Bob Dylan’s Must Be Santa Must Be Awesome

You may not be aware of this but Bob Dylan is still technically alive.  As alive as he ever was and still sounding like he’s singing with the corpse of a hobo lodged somewhere down near his diaphragm.  But he’s an icon or whatever so people are cool with the fact that if no one knew who he was and he tried to get up on an open mic night at a Starbucks today he’d have latte’s hurled at him until his flesh was red and scalded.  The time’s they are a-changin (ha!  See what we did there?).

Anyway, in direct opposition of Dylan’s image as a somewhat medicated politically aware beatnik (or whatever), he decided to go batshit insane for the holidays and, in a word, it’s fucking awesome.  It’s so awesome that those two words should be understood as one.  Take that, grammar.

The thing the holidays and, let’s be honest, Dylan himself has been missing for many years now is polka.  That and fucked up wigs.  So Dylan busts out the accordions and some silky new locks under a wicked hat and the result is the most awesome Christmas party that doesn’t involve banging a drunken coworker that you will ever see.  What’s going on here?  Don’t even ask.

In fairness, it looks like everyone at this dimly lit polka-jam is wasted, but that’s just part of the charm. The charm of Bob Dylan in pajamas and changing hats, and what appears to be a home invasion at the 1:50 mark when a dude runs in and starts busting shit up before flying out the window again.
