How about the fact that the beast doesn't look all that beastly but more like a cuddly teddy bear ?

Wow, I'm not really sure what is so "funny" about this, but let me address your problems:
The big bosoms of Gaston’s blond admirers
*That's how Gaston likes them.
Mrs. Potts is clearly too old to be the mother of a young child
*Perhaps Chip's parents died and she is a grandmother taking care of him. Way to bring back tragic memories.
Belle puts talking silverware in her mouth
*It's not like they have genitals or anything so what's the problem?
Belle puts an enchanted boy in her mouth
*Again, they don't have skin or sensory organs, you may as well accuse her of feeling up Potts when she pours tea with her.
Belle falls in love with a manimal
*Humans are animals & mammals, why not just say 'a beast'? That's the whole plot of the book, her overcoming her revulsion for his personality.
Only one character speaks French
*Welcome to English Disney: because children can't read subtitles fast
What legal authority did the Beast have to imprison anyone for life?
*Monarchy, he's royalty. He rules with power. It was pretty popular back in the olden days.
The Beast is illiterate.
*We don't know that for sure. Perhaps he fakes it to get Belle's help. Perhaps he lost the ability to read during the trauma of his transformation. Perhaps he couldn't turn pages with his gnarled fingers and didn't see the point in trying to learn, or had no one to teach him.
The proportions of the castle are insane.
*You dislike the movie because it has a big castle? You don't really like many of the Disney classics do you?
Do all the silverware represent people? If so, the staff of the castle would have easily numbered in the hundreds. What kind of income was the Beast generating to support such a multitude?
*Being a prince, he probably ruled over a kingdom. The kingdom is long gone now so you don't see the infrastructure as it likely collapsed while they lived as immortal silverware.
